"Goodness, this is elegant," Ursula commented as they stepped in the front door of the Polar Pleasures Hotel on the stroke of three. The lobby looked like a silver and crystal waterfall.

"Yes, we're very fortunate," he said, trying to suppress a grin. "The food is excellent, and the rooms offer all sorts of amenities, like a Jacuzzi in some of them. There's a heated indoor swimming pool, a spa, a hot tub, and a ballroom for weddings, which serves as the local nightclub and disco when no events are on. Which is why I said if you wanted to stay here--"

She shook her head. "Oh, no, really, you've already been so kind. I just have to put on my big girl panties and deal."

"I hope that phrase isn't in reference to the bitchy thing Becky said about the brick outhouse," he commented as he led her through the foyer.

"Er, maybe a little. Though she has quite the big butt herself. The pot called the kettle black for sure."

"You're taller, though. So you're, um, way better proportioned, I have to say. Legs for days, and not a jiggle anywhere. You work out?"

She blushed.

"Full gym here too. Locals who want to use it can pay a small monthly membership fee. It's open 24/7. Just ask at the front desk for a keycard if it's after eleven at night, until five in the morning."

"Oh, good to know. Yes, sometimes I go to the gym, but, well, you can imagine the stares with a great big girl like me in there. I like yoga and, well, belly-dancing. Great for the abs."

"And a good way to let out your inner sexy," he said as he led her to a table by the window and held her chair for her in a very gentlemanly manner that took her by surprise.

"Oh, um, I'm not so sure I have that," she said, blushing hotly again.

Barrett hadn't seen any young women thereabouts blush for years. Ursula was clearly unique, unworldly, sweet, the kind of girl you would bring home to your mother. Or aunt, now that his parents were no longer with him.

But that also made her an easy victim for badly-intentioned dudes. He was NOT going to be one of them, he decided, no matter how gorgeous she was.

"You're young, shy, and had a partner who clearly never brought it out in you. I'm not a huge expert on women, but I know how to make one come."

She squeaked, and hid her face behind the menu she had been looking at out of curiosity. "Pierre sure didn't," came her muffled reply a short time later. "Not me, anyway. He told some bitch he was he was banging in our bed, and buggering with a dildo, that I was a buffalo. Told her what a treat it was to fuck a woman who knew how to come. Blamed ME all the time...."

Barrett dared to tug the top of the menu so he could see her face. She looked as though her world had come to an end, her lovely blue eyes glittering with unshed tears.
